As the name Golden Circle Photo Tour indicates it is a circle covering ca. 300 km from Reykjavik into a part of the inhabitable highlands of Iceland and back.
This is a day tour that gives you good preview of extraordinary Iceland and its magnificent nature.
The four primary stops on the Golden Circle Photo Tour are:
The national park Þingvellir. The Þingvellir area is part of a fissure zone running through Iceland, being situated on the tectonic plate boundaries of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The faults and fissures of the area make evident the rifting of the earth’s crust. You´ll walk through those fissures and get a glimpse of the sagas and the old Iceland from the Viking age in. Thingvellir is on the World Heritage list for its cultural values but it´s also a natural wonder on an international scale.
The waterfall Gullfoss (“golden falls”) a magnificent waterfall that falls in steps in to a huge ravine.
The geothermal active area named Haukadalur, which contains the geysers Geysir and Strokkur. Strokkur is very dependable and erupts every 5 -10 minutes.
The waterfall Brúárfoss, a hidden gem in Icelandic nature. Breathtaking scenery for all seasons.
During the winter months, when the forecast for Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) is promising this trip is ideally combined with a Northern Lights tour. Be prepared to stay up late and experience magic. Ask our guide for further information.
We reserve the right to alter the itinerary according to weather and road conditions. Cancellations must be made 12 hours prior to departure. No shows are fully charged.
