Lofoten in North Norway is known as one of the very best places for Landscape Photography in the world. Incredible beaches and mountains covered with snow, unreal northern light shows. Many world class locations within a relatively small area, which means no long drives – we can spend more time shooting, less time traveling.
Lofoten 2024 tour is guided by En Route lead guide: Oli Haukur and our friend & experienced Norwegian Photo Guide Christian Høiberg, A great Photographer and all around nice guy. Together we will make this Winter Adventure in Lofoten an unforgettable experience for you.
Meet up at Evenes (EVE), we get settled in our spacious minivans and start our Arctic adventure, driving southwest towards the Lofoten islands.
During the drive, the group will get to know each other and we will discuss the main itinerary for the days ahead. As soon as we arrive at our Basecamp we will go out shoot sunset and Aurora Borealis, always when traveling so far north we first ensure that the weather is promising.
Our minivans leave the basecamp bright and early and we will explore the historic village of Reine, quite possibly Lofoten’s most prized jewel. We will photograph all the iconic viewpoints, traditional fisherman cabins, jagged granite mountains, colorful fjords and lots more. The surrounding area and islands are extremely picturesque and we will spend the entire days exploring new angles and perspectives. Highlights include locations such as Flakstad (Skagsanden), Fredvang, Nusfjord, Å, Ramberg, Selfjord and more.
This area is unwoeldly, be prepared to live a spectacular scene, get lost in the moment and catch photos that are one of a kind. In Leknes we are very close to all the world renowned beaches such as Utakleiv, Haukland, Unstad and Vik. All of which are ideal in regards to Auroral activity. We will be chasing the unique Arctic light and explore the before mentioned beaches, as well as Ballstad, Vareid, Myrland and Valberg. The Auroras are a natural phenomenon, not to be taken for granted but still almost a daily sight for people living in this rural part of the north. The lights shined in the sky are unique, no two photos of this magical light are ever the same.
After enjoying breakfast and some final goodbyes, we will travel back to Evenes Airport (EVE) in due time for your flight home. Be prepared to take home not only wonderful images but memories of a unique experience.

Norway has a powerful, rugged and yet very vulnerable and raw nature that demands our utmost respect and great care. We ask every visitor to show respect to the precious land at all times and take care with their rubbish and gear, everything we bring with us in this barren landscape we need to take back with us.
Also keep in mind that we have your safety in mind at all times, weather and road safety is our top priority. Please read well instructions on recommended clothing and boots to bring for the cold nordic winter.
Please kindly be aware that Norway is like other nordic countries of very unpredictable nature. We can expect turbulent weathers with short notice, heavy snow storms and forceful winds. We claim rights and responsibility to alter tours to ensure your safety first. We encourage you to embrace that as part of the adventure.
